Videoconferencing

Teachers and students use a Polycom unit to connect with experts, go on virtual field trips or collaborate with other schools.

Please use the videoconferencing checklist attached to help you determine if an event is doable and how to proceed if you find something.  It is important that teachers do not register for events but contact the Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) who should complete all registrations.  There are 4 videoconference units in the district and there can be only one connection at a time, so coordination of events is critical.  In addition, most registrations require technical information which needs to come from the Technology Department.  More than one unit can be in operation at the same time if there is an intra-district event where one SF building connects with anther SF building.  This type of connection still needs to be coordinated with the district schedule through the TIS.
