Mrs. Redeyoff’s September News
“WANTED”
SUPER STUDENTS
Students create a “Wanted” poster in
which they include personal information about themselves. This fun getting acquainted activity is
enjoyed by all the students. They
especially like being fingerprinted at the end.
Our first novel for the year is Rabbit
Hill by Robert Lawson. We have begun
reading this as part of our enrichment to our RIF Program. It is a
heart-warming story about the animals of Rabbit Hill who are waiting for new
neighbors to arrive. A personal experience that students are proud of will be
integrated as a creative writing activity. Be on the lookout for our decorated
T-shirts on display. Upon completion of this novel, we will work on
our first book report together in class.
This will be in book jacket format.
Review of capitalization and punctuation rules are the highlights
of our Grammar lessons. As we move into
the first month of school, the students will also concentrate on writing good,
complete sentences. We will then travel
to the land of pronouns in the near future.
I look forward to meeting everyone at Open House on September 4th!
