again this year; the organization to which we are donating has not yet been
decided.
§ Box Tops and eScrip – Gina Ciocco-Schmitt
Brooke collected 6000
box tops for the Fall submission. We
will be receiving a check for $600 in December.
Thanks to all the families who sent these into school.
§ Dance-a-Thon/Movin’ N’ Groovin’ Night – Tracie Hackett and
Pam Ciresi
We raised
approximately $6,700; our goal was $6000.
160 students (37%) attended, with 30% of Brooke families
contributing. Tracie and Pam attended
Royersford’s Dance-a-thon, which was held the week before ours, and got several
ideas for next year. Dr. Mackel
mentioned that we may want to invest in a coat rack; everyone liked this
idea. The coat rack used this year was
borrowed. If you would like to help out
with next year’s event, or have suggestions, please let Tracie and/or Pam
know. They will start organizing the
event earlier in the year next year.
§
Need volunteers for
this, as well as a chairperson for Santa’s Secret Shop. Aprons are here for volunteers to wear; we’re
also making buttons for them. If you are
available to post flyers in local businesses, please let Christine know. We’re placing ads in Community Courier, The Trend
and maybe The Mercury. A Holiday Happenings
Committee meeting is being held immediately following tonight’s H&S
meeting.
§ Market Day – Kim McLaughlin, Marlo Oslon & Jenn
DeRosa
Kim reported that we
raised $1,164.02 in October. We really
need volunteers! We don’t want people to
have to wait in line for double-check or they might reconsider ordering. Need volunteers from 6:00-7:00 PM to unload
the truck and from 7:00 – 8:00 PM to double-check the orders at pick-up.
§ Restaurants – Pam Ciresi
Texas Roadhouse Spirit
Night is Monday, December 3; can do take-out as well as eat-in.
§ Spirit Wear – Suzanne Mosebrook
Merchandise is being
ordered from Frank Jones in Norristown.
She doesn’t have samples, but will get them. Hoodie is navy blue with “Spring-Ford Rams”
on it. Other items say “Brooke”. Suzanne is looking into cardigans for the
teachers: Barbara Halphen stated that
the teachers are taking care of their needs.
The flyer is done and would like to have it in the Wednesday folders for
11/27.
§ Teacher/Staff Appreciation – Joyclyn Faust
We will be providing
dinner for the teachers on 11/19—pasta night-- and 11/20—deli night. Food needs to arrive at Brooke by 3:00 PM. It does not need to be homemade.
§ Wednesday
Folders
– Tonia Leonard & Cindy Begg
Cindy reported that
they need more volunteers. Also, can we
reduce the amount of leftover papers? We
had 600 pieces of leftover hand-outs after the folders were completed last
week. Barbara Halphen said that we have approximately
335 families, plus 75 extras per item in folder. Kim McLaughlin will reduce the Market Day
copies to 500.
