Art Enrichment Group

Objectives

Art enrichment is a select group of Art Students who gather each week to assist in projects to adorn the school building. It is to help the students by giving them a creative outlet and enhancing their abilities to express themselves. Attendance is mandatory and club fees are collected. Off site studio work is sometimes required.

Activities

Major projects supported by the SFASD have been: The clay mural, "Rays of Tomorrow"; the copper dragon, "Reflections of Innocence."

Currently the ART ENRICHMENT group meets every Thursday in the 10-12 building in room 164 from 3:00 until 4:00 pm. The mission of this group is to create major works of public art for the high school building. The students are currently working on their major fundraiser- ceramic sculptures for sale from Dec 1-20 in the HS. Funds derived from this sale will be used to defray the cost of materials for our projects.

To date we have completed seven public works or art. "Falling leaves"- a glass installation, Iroquois- a ceramic totem, and a clay monoprint with artist Mitch Lyons.
