The Cultural Awareness Club would like to welcome you to the 04/05 school year.
Now more than ever, racial and cultural tolerance is of the utmost importance
to our society. We
invite everyone to participate with us in a variety of activities throughout the
year, and to encourage staff participation we have a special offer for you…
MONTHLY PROGRAMS: Every month the Cultural Awareness Club holds one
presentation about a particular country or culture. In the past, these events
have been very well received, and we’ve had programs on Iraq, Liberia, Brazil,
India, Turkey, Italy, and others. Additionally, we’ve celebrated Black
History Month and the cultural talents of our own students.
OPEN FORUMS: This year the Cultural Awareness Club plans to hold several open
forums on a variety of topics.
CLUB ACTIVITIES: Want to watch foreign films? Eat interesting ethnic food?
Celebrate a variety of cultural events throughout the year? You have to be a
member of the club to participate in these fun-filled and informative
activities, so sign up now!
PASSPORTS: For the first time, the Cultural Awareness Club will be issuing
passports to all of its members! These passports will be stamped each time a
member attends a cultural program. At the end of the year, the member with
the most passport stamps will be awarded a prize, and we’ll award a special prize to the Executive
Member with the most stamps! |
