Graphic Design Major

Art 015

Grades 10, 11, 12 6 Periods 1 credit

Students who are thinking about pursuing a career in a commercial art field will find this course Graphic Design Major beneficial. A more in depth experience than the minor course, the major class will challenge students to solve creative problems using the Adobe Creative Suite which includes 5 professional design computer programs: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, Go Live, and Acrobat. From computer illustration, to manipulating and transforming photographs, to multiple page layouts, to advanced animation and web design, it will be covered in this modern day art course. Compared with Graphic Design Minor, Graphic Design Major will allow for more in-depth conversation about the creative thought processes, design essentials, and how to enhance the visual impact of design.
