Social Studies

 Integrated Psychology/Sociology/ English 12 Honors

ICH

This course is a full year block course which combines the study of the 12th grade track 1 English curriculum with that of Psychology and Sociology.  The study of the social sciences complements that of English and there is a great deal of overlap between their contents.  Psychology examines the motivations, feelings and behavior of individuals.  Sociology deals with these same elements within groups of people, operating in society.  The themes of lterature are deeply rooted in both.  Language skills such as public speaking, essay writing, note taking and group discussion are taught, practiced and applied in both courses.  Team teaching allows the class the flexibility of dealing with common themes and skills together.  Students must be eligible for 12th grade track 1 English in order to take the course.  Note: The Psych./Soc. Portion of this course is not weighted.
