AP Psychology

Social Studies 146

This course is designed for students who plan to enter college and major in the field of psychology, or would like the opportunity to take the AP test for possible college credit. This is an upper level course, and those who elect to take it must have a 93% average or better in all previous social studies classes taken at the high school level. The course will use a college level textbook and will require students to go into much greater depth of material. Emphasis will be placed on preparing students to take the exam administered by the College Board. Topics include the brain, learning, child development, personality theory, and behavioral disorders. Students will use hands-on experiments to incorporate different theories into practice. Weighted Course.
