Guidance counselors are available at Spring-Ford Senior High School to assist students in solving problems in educational or personal planning, course selection, social adjustment, and school and career needs. The staff is available to students, parents, former students, and graduates. Conferences are held when needed or requested. Group guidance is used to disseminate general information. A library of catalogues, pamphlets, and directories is available for use. Informational visits by colleges, business schools, technical schools, and nursing schools are arranged for interested students. The department processes school applications and implements testing programs. Career information is available. These services are designed to assist students in planning for the future. One of the most important decisions for a student is course selection. In both group and individual counseling, serious consideration is given to realistic goals and how they can be reached. Students are encouraged to discuss plans and courses with parents before making a definite decision. After a decision is made, parents and current teachers are requested to sign a course selection card to indicate their knowledge and approval of the program. Homework PolicyStudents are responsible for obtaining missed assignments when they are absent 1 or 2 days, and also when absent due to an extra-curricular activity. If a student will be absent 3 days or more, parents may call the Guidance Office (610-705-6038) and request assignments for their child. If this request is made before 9:00 a.m., assignments can be picked up later that same day. If the request is made after 9:00 a.m., the assignments can be picked up the following day.
RemindersTo all parents and students: No students will be permitted to change, drop, or add classes. The deadline for this was July 30st.
Under federal law, virtually all men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. However, the Selective Service System now accepts early submission of registration information by 17-year-old men. The Agency holds their registration information and automatically enters their data into the system when they turn 18. Students need to be registered to be eligible for student loans, grants, job training, and Federal employment. Get more information or register at
