 Patterns in the Sky

Many children are aware of the bright moon in the sky each night but don't realize why it is lit up or why it changes shape.  Throughout this unit the students will learn about the changes in the sky.  They will learn about weather and seasonal changes as well as our solar system

Motion and Forces

Students love to play with magnets.  In this unit the students will be able to do just that.  They will discover that magnets attract and repel objects and that not all objects are magnetic.  The students will also learn about simple machines such as ramps, levers, and pulleys.

Animals and Plants

During this unit, the students will learn about plants and animals and their life cycles. They will discover how both plants and animals meet their needs.  Also the students will learn how to categorize plants and animals into groups based upon their structures. Students will get to observe the life cycle of butterflies. Temporary observation towers will be set-up in rooms as students learn about their life cycle and unique qualities that make butterflies so fascinating.
