First Unit: Geography This unit focuses on the physical features of our earth.  The students will look at the terms describing these features.  They will also study maps to learn the continents, oceans, cardinal directions, map key, compass rose, and symbols.

Second Unit: Our Nation        This unit focuses on the United States of America.  The students will explore U.S. symbols and the meanings behind them. Several historical Americans will be highlighted.  There will also be a mini unit on holiday celebrations around the world.

Third Unit: Economics This unit is an overview of terms and concepts used to describe the production and consumption of goods and services.  The students will take a look at assembly lines, the use of natural resources, and the people who make possible final products.  They will also take a look at the role of consumers in our economy.

Fourth Unit: Asia This unit will offer an exposure to several Asian nations.  The students will explore the similarities and differences between these nations and the United States.
