Great site for maps.  Takes a while to load.  Either click on the name of the continent or country to get a more detailed map or choose from the drop down menu at the top.  http://www.nationalgeographic.com/xpeditions/atlas/

 

Country Reports

The BBC is the best!!  The British Broadcasting Company has profiles for every country in the world.  The information includes timelines and basic maps. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/country_profiles/default.stm

Fact Monster RULES!!  Here is one of Third Grade's favorite website's information on the countries of the world.  http://www.factmonster.com/countries.html

Blank and printable flags for all parts of the world.  Site takes a long time to load.  Choose the region for your country and find the flag on the next page listed alphabetically.  http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/cbk.html

Answers.com provides dictionary and encyclopedia entries for all the countries of the world.  Simply type your country's name in the search bar and click the name of your country with the word country in parentheses to find the entry.  Also this site offers audio of the country's name for hard to pronounce countries like Macedonia!!  http://www.answers.com/

Wikipedia.com is a unique site because it is updated by its users.  If there is information that needs to be corrected or updated users can make the changes themselves.  This makes Wikipedia a great site for updated information on any topic!!  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

The CIA has a fact book about every country in the world.  Be a spy and find out more about these countries for your report.  http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html

Timelines of History has timelines for every corner of the world dating back to before recorded history.  Be careful there is a lot of information on these timelines!!  http://timelines.ws/

 

Native Americans
