Homework Policy

Homework is an important part of the learning process. Homework provides additional practice, stronger study skills, increased responsibility, and an awareness of what has been taught in school. Although homework is not graded, it has an impact on the subject to which it is assigned. In order to stress the importance of homework the fourth grade teachers, with Mr. Willauer’s full support, have implemented a homework policy. A homework grade will be assigned in the following way.

Each homework assignment is worth two points. Students receive two points for each assignment turned completely and on time. Students will receive one point for partially complete assignments turned in on time, and no points if the homework is not turned in on time. All points will be combined at the end of the marking period to make up a homework grade for that subject. This policy may vary for long-term assignments, such as book reports, and other projects that are graded separately.

If you have any questions regarding this homework policy please contact your child’s teacher. We hope that you appreciate and understand the reasons for this policy as we anticipate your cooperation and support both for your child and for this emphasis on homework.
