The Royersford Elementary Safety Patrol is a wonderful opportunity for a child to develop leadership and responsibility as well as helping to keep the students at Royersford Elementary safe. This is a program that is actively promoted and aided by the American Automobile Association (AAA) since the early 1920’s. The AAA office in Pottstown is the branch that is affiliated with our patrol.
Students are nominated for this position by the staff in the spring of their third grade year. After the students are recommended, if accepted, there is a process of filling out paper work to register the nominee as an official member of the Royersford Elementary Safety Patrol. Assignments are made and trial participation at assigned posts is usually set up for the last two weeks of school in June. The week of teacher In-Service Days in August the Safety Patrol is asked to pick up the necessary equipment, so everything can start smoothly on the first day of school.
Post assignments can be Corner Safety, Hall Monitor, Class Escorts, Bus Safety, Job Safety, etc.
Royersford Elementary is proud of the job that our Safety Patrol Members do for the students and staff.
