*Deficits in these areas can affect performance in all academic areas that involve auditory reception and processing of curricular material and the following of auditory directions. Spelling & reading may be affected by difficulty analyzing and applying the phonemic code. *

 

  • Attention: The ability to attend to the speaker and follow what is said.                                                                           
  • Auditory Memory: The ability to retain information heard short and long term.

 

  • Auditory Discrimination: The ability to discriminate between similar sounds,  phonemes, and words.

 

  • Sound blending & Sequencing: The ability to blend and sequence sounds within words.
