Spring City Elementary Reading Olympics Team
This year our Fourth Graders will have the opportunity to participate in the Reading Olympics program sponsored by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU). The Reading Olympics program is a celebration of reading that is meant to increase students' reading for pleasure as well as improve reading skills. Team members, as a group, read 40-50 books that have been chosen by a panel of librarians and other educators. The panel of educators read the books and create questions for the Reading Olympics competition. In the spring the Reading Olympics is held in the evening at a school in Montgomery County. Each team is paired with teams from other schools in three rounds of questioning. Each participant earns a ribbon based on the number of questions their team answers correctly. For more information, updates to booklists, etc.
