 Meet Mr. Willauer

David R. Willauer began his 35th year at Royersford Elementary School on November 3rd, 2009.  He taught 6th grade for seven years at the school, (when Royersford was a K-6 school), and then 5th grade for three years, (when R.E.S. was a K-5 school), before becoming principal in 1985.  Mr. Willauer completed his undergraduate studies at Elizabethtown College in 1975, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  He earned a Master’s degree in Instructional Media at West Chester University.  Mr. Willauer’s certification to become an elementary principal was completed at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Willauer is actively involved in the community as well as the life of Royersford Elementary School.  He is a past president of the Spring-Ford Rotary Club; a former trustee of the Peter Wentz Farmstead Society, Worcester; and served as a director on the board of the Royersford Public Library.  Mr. Willauer is also a life member of the Spring-Ford Historical Society and a volunteer with Project Outreach.  He is also an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren and serves as a member of the pastoral resource team at his home church, the Parker Ford Church of the Brethren.

Mr. Willauer is married to Intermediate School teacher, Connie Willauer, and they have two grown children both of whom graduated from Penn State.

Mr. Willauer is also the host of "Ram Country," which features the great things happening across the Spring-Ford School District, and which airs daily on the school district's cable channel, Ram Country Television, (Comcast Cable's channel 969).
