David R.
Willauer began his 35th year at Royersford
Elementary School on November 3rd,
2009. He taught 6th grade for seven years at the school, (when
Royersford was a K-6 school), and then 5th grade for three years, (when
R.E.S. was a K-5 school), before
becoming principal in 1985. Mr. Willauer completed his undergraduate
studies at Elizabethtown College in 1975, earning a Bachelor’s degree in
Elementary Education. He earned a Master’s degree in Instructional
Media at West Chester University. Mr. Willauer’s
certification to become an elementary principal was completed at the University of
Pennsylvania.
Mr. Willauer
is actively involved in the community as well as the life of Royersford
Elementary School. He is a past president of the Spring-Ford
Rotary Club; a former trustee of the Peter Wentz Farmstead Society,
Worcester; and served as a director on the board of the Royersford
Public Library. Mr. Willauer is also a life member of the
Spring-Ford Historical Society and a volunteer with Project Outreach.
He is also an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren and serves
as a member of the pastoral resource team at
his home church, the Parker Ford Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Willauer is married to
Intermediate School teacher, Connie Willauer, and they have two
grown children both of whom graduated from Penn State.
Mr. Willauer is also the host of
"Ram Country,"
which features the great things happening across the Spring-Ford
School District, and which airs daily on the school district's cable channel,
Ram Country Television, (Comcast Cable's channel 969). |
