Mr. Willauer's Philosophy


		Mr. Willauer’s philosophy of an effective elementary school is comprised of three parts: - First, an effective elementary school has to be a place where the children want to be. “If children don’t want to be here,” says Mr. Willauer, “we’re defeated before we even start.” - Secondly, an effective elementary school should focus on “the basics” as strongly as possible. “Basics” include more than the “3 R’s”. Also included are the areas of higher level thinking and problem solving skills. In our world today, communication and technology-related skills are also considered “basics”. - Finally, an effective elementary school provides its students with as many experiences as possible. Doing so broadens horizons and creates possibilities for our children.
