HELLO, welcome to
my site!! Here is a little information about me, I
hope you enjoy!
I graduated from Bloomsburg
University in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education. I
enjoyed my student teaching experience in the Norristown
School District where I taught both kindergarten and
fifth grade students at Paul V. Fly Elementary School. I then
traveled to suburban/urban Maryland where I spent two years
teaching fourth grade. I enjoyed this time immensely and I
feel as though I grew a great deal professionally in that
time. Then I moved closer to home, in fact I grew up in
Royersford!! I was extremely pleased and excited to be
coming to teach at Royersford Elementary School. I feel
fortunate to be a part of the
RES team
and also part of the Royersford community.
Philosophy of Teaching
My philosophy of teaching
is based upon three main principles: respect, consistency,
and fun. Firstly, mutual respect amongst all the members of
a class or group is of the utmost importance. Here at
Royersford Elementary School (RES)
it is expected that all students will be respectful of one
another and all adults in the building. While not taken for
granted, respect amongst the students is almost assumed
because of the Good Choice Team and the Stop and Think
method of discipline. The Stop and Think program lays out
rules and consequences (both negative and positive) quite
clearly and is not negotiable here at
RES. I as a teacher must enforce these rules,
consequences, and procedures. It is also my job to enforce
the rules and govern my classroom with the Golden Rule in
mind. I attempt to use this ideal as a basis for my
teaching, discipline, and relationships in and out of the
classroom!! |
