What is the role of the Reading Specialist?

Reading Specialist promotes reading throughout the school by organizing R.I.F. Days sponsored by the Spring City PTA. |
How do you determine if a child needs additional help in
reading?
| 1. The Reading Specialist is a resource person for teachers and parents. |

| 2. Teachers recommend students for screening by the Reading Specialist based on their assessment of the student's reading ability in the classroom. |
|
| 3. The Reading Specialist and the Principal review reading test scores on a regular basis. Students who are struggling receive additional screening by the Reading Specialist. | |
| 4. Parents request screening by the Reading Specialist because they are concerned about their child's reading performance. |
