The Spring-Ford Area School District Board of School Directors appointed Mr. Robert Rizzo as the new Assistant Superintendent during the June 24,
2019 School Board meeting.
We are just a week into summer break, and our administrative team is already gearing up for the 2019-2020 school year. I am pleased to announce that last night the Spring-Ford Board of School Directors appointed Mr. Robert Rizzo as the new Assistant Superintendent!
Mr. Rizzo began his career as a Band Director in the East Allegheny School District in 1993. Since that time, he has served as a Band Director for Penn Hills School District and Indiana Area School District, as well as an Assistant Principal at Indiana Area Senior High School, Principal at Ben Franklin Elementary School, Coordinator of Instructional Technology for Indiana Area School District, and most recently, Assistant Superintendent of the Indiana Area School District.
When we hire new employees, whether it is a teacher or an administrator, we focus on people who want to grow with us. Mr. Rizzo has a long history of supporting students at all levels of need, from his time in the classroom to his experience as an administrator. He will be a great asset to our district as we look towards the future.
Mr. Rizzo is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Educational Leadership: Instructional Technology through Wilkes University. He earned his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility in 2015 from California University of Pennsylvania, his Principal Certification and Master of Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a proud graduate of Penn State University.
Mr. Rizzo replaces Dr. Allyn Roche, who was recently appointed Upper Perkiomen School District Superintendent. I wish Dr. Roche the best in his new role and thank him for eight years of dedication to Spring-Ford’s students and staff.
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Rizzo to the Spring-Ford community!
Dr. David Goodin
- Assistant Superintendent
