Student Spotlight: National Merit Finalists

Dr. Robert Colyer, 12th Grade House Principal, recognized Spring-Ford Area High School students John T. Kelly, Yash B. Shah and Nicholas D. Moore on being named as Finalists in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.

About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the National Merit Scholarship Program. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than 1% of US high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

About 15,000 students are expected to advance to the Finalist level. All National Merit Scholarship winners will be selected from this group of Finalists.

Since it's founding, NMSC has recognized more than 3 million students and provided approximately 407,000 scholarships worth over $1.6 billion. For more information about the National Merit Scholarship program, please visit www.nationalmerit.org.

Mr. Alex Cifelli, Teacher and Spring Musical Director, along with the cast members of the Spring Musical, provided a glimpse of this year's show How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

When a humble but ambitious window washer happens upon a book entitled 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying', he begins his rise up the corporate ladder to the top of the executive heap with a mixture of innocence and smarts. But, during a moment of crisis in his single-minded pursuit of the top job, he realizes that this manual can no longer help him and he must rely on his own wits, and ultimately his heart, to save the day. Come out for an evening of lighthearted comedy in Spring-Ford's production of this 1961 musical! How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials re also supplied by MTI.
