February 2020 MESSAGE FROM DR. CARBOY Dear RES Parents,
It is hard to believe that we have passed the half way point of the year! On Friday February 7th we celebrate our 100th Day of School. Students have settled in routines and have a good understanding of our school-wide rules and expectations. Consistency is a key factor for student success so we appreciate you making sure that students come to school each and every day and that they come to school on time. Also, please join me in congratulating Lauren Raugh who has accepted the position of Behavioral Intervention Specialist and will be working amongst all the elementary schools throughout Spring Ford. Thank you for your continued support!
Dr. Carboy WHAT HAPPENED TO WINTER?? Groundhog Day...
This year Groundhog Day is Sunday, February 2nd! ... Phil will leave his burrow at 7:25 a.m. February 2nd at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania he will observe the weather conditions and look for his shadow he will then make his prediction for the remainder of winter.
According to the legend: If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.
SCHOOL NEWS The school counselors of the Spring-Ford Area School District strive to help students succeed academically, socially and emotionally by instilling the skills and attitudes needed in their everyday lives. Talk with your children about these qualities and character traits. Students and staff are encouraged to get in the spirit on February 3 by wearing sweats to school. This represents exercise, eating healthy and getting plenty of rest. Remember to practice good healthy habits to stay healthy!est
