Spring-Ford Spotlight: Mrs. Elizabeth Leiss, Director of HR

On Monday, March 26, 2018 the Board of School Directors recognized Elizabeth Leiss, Director of Human Resources, recipient of the 2018 William K. Dowler Award.

The William K. Dowler Award was created to recognize a practicing personnel professional who is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Personnel Administrators. The individual receiving the award must meet the criteria as designated by the founders of the award and possess the qualities and skills most often demonstrated by an outstanding personnel administrator.

Mrs. Leiss possesses many qualities that support the criteria for selection. Her peers shared kind words during the award ceremony: "She is a remarkable person who is intelligent, aware of the vast educational research of effective practices and has the experience in educational personnel administration to operationalize best human resources practices. I have found her to be honest, resourceful, benevolent, and a true leader that others are willing to follow.  She has served as an officer in both PASPA and EPASPA. In 2010-2011 she served as President of EPASPA and 2012-2013 served as president of PASPA. She continues to be a very active member in both organizations. With a Bachelor's Degree from Delaware Valley College and MBA from La Salle University, she has been active in school personnel with positions at Norristown Area School District, Hatboro-Horsham, Boyertown Area School District, and Spring-Ford Area School District where she currently practices. There are many proficient and dedicated leaders in the educational personnel profession.  There are also those HR Directors who, because of their commitment to education, leadership, and innovation, must be considered outstanding."
