Spring-Ford Area School District was recognized as one of 447 districts across the U.S. and Canada in the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll. The Honor Roll honors districts who have increased access to Advanced Placement (AP) course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams. Reaching these goals indicates that these districts are successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are likely to benefit from rigorous AP course work.
The Spring-Ford Board of School Directors held the annual reorganization meeting on Monday, December 4, 2017. The board voted to elect Thomas DiBello as board president and Dawn Heine as vice president. “I want to thank my fellow board members for their support. I am looking forward to a successful school year, and I’d like to welcome the new board members this year,” said DiBello.
Spring-Ford Area High School theatre presents A Christmas Carol this November. A Ridiculous but surprisingly faithful rendition of the Dickens classic in which Ebenezer Scrooge is haunted by the ghosts of his late partner, Jacob Marley, Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come. Faced with his own mortality, and the evil results of his misanthropic, miserly ways, Scrooge is redeemed, reconciled with his nephew and his neighbors, and becomes a second father to his assistant's son, Tiny Tim. Ludlam finds the humor as well as the pathos in this Victorian melodrama, creating the most Dickensian and stageworthy adaptation yet.
