Good afternoon Spring-Ford family,

Earlier today, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania issued a ruling that voids the Face Covering Order for Pennsylvania schools issued by PA Acting Secretary of Health Allison Beam on August 31, 2021. It is our understanding that masking now becomes a local school district decision again as was in place before the August 31 order. This means that Spring-Ford will again follow the 2021-2022 Health and Safety Plan, as approved in August 2021. The Health and Safety Plan (HSP) outlines Spring-Ford’s commitment to maintaining the health and safety of students and staff and includes detailed information about masking, physical distancing, hand washing, and cleaning. You can click here to review the 2021-2022 HSP.

Our current masking status is masks are mandatory for all students and staff, grades K-12. In accordance with the CDC mandate, masking will still be required on buses.

We will continue to monitor information from the State level over the next few days and communicate any changes with our school community.

Thank you,
Mr. Rizzo
Superintendent
