Good evening, Spring-Ford Family,

As you may already know, the CDC issued updated guidance on masking, including masking in schools. Masking is now recommended in counties with a community level of HIGH only. Counties with LOW and MEDIUM no longer have a masking requirement as a mitigation strategy. At this time, Montgomery County is in the MEDIUM community level.

As a result of the recent CDC update, Spring-Ford will loosen the enforcement of the current mask mandate in all of our buildings and when riding school transportation until such time as the School Board can take action on anticipated changes to the Health and Safety Plan Monday evening.

As I shared earlier today, I encourage families to take time today and tomorrow to discuss what mask recommended might look like for their children. If wearing a mask is the best choice for your family, it will be important to make sure your child understands that it will be their responsibility to wear it in school.

We will be changing the Spring-Ford COVID Dashboard to better align with the updated guidance. These changes will be made over the next few days and will be shared in Weekly Update on Wednesday.

Our Spring-Ford community is very special and I want to thank the staff, students, Board, and families for continually working to do what is best for all of our students.

My very best,
Mr. Rizzo
