Round Up at the Register
SFASD is partnering with our local Giant Food Stores! Stop by GIANT on Main Street in Royersford (address 967 Township Line Road) now through February 28, 2023 and round up at the register to support Spring-Ford schools. Last year, this fundraiser awarded more than $9,100 to support Spring-Ford students! The donation last year went towards paying outstanding balances and will be used in the same manner this year.

Spring-Ford has two Giant locations in our footprint, but not all school districts are quite as lucky. Round Up donations at the Township Line location near Limerick will support our friends in PV.

Student Spotlight: Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest
Student Spotlight: In December, Ursinus College announced the Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest, an opportunity open to all students in grades 5-8. The purpose of the contest is to encourage young people to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through inquiry, reflection, and personal expression. Students were asked to reflect on the life and times of Dr. King and prepare an entry that expresses how his words and actions can be an inspiration and guide for your generation.

Congratulations to 7th grade student, Avika G., for winning the Grades 6-8 Essay contest!

Title IIA & Title IV Stakeholder Input
Under the Federal law, Every Student Succeeds Act, Spring-Ford receives annual allocations for Title IIA and Title IV.  Although allocations fluctuate from year to year, Spring-Ford receives approximately $130,000 for Title IIA and $30,000 for Title IV. Title IV provides opportunities to support well-rounded education opportunities, safe and healthy schools, and effective uses of technology. As a stakeholder, we need your input for next year's spending plan. Transferability rules allow for Title IV funds to be transferred to Title I & Title II.  Past practices have included transferring the Title IV allocation to Title I for student supports and to Title II to allow for more flexible spending opportunities related to professional development.

Please complete the survey linked here provide your input on spending opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year for the Federal grants of Title IIA and Title IV. For more information related to these grants, please visit the PDE website here.

If you have specific questions related to Spring-Ford, please contact Catherine Gardy, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Technology, cgard@spring-ford.net or 610-705-6211.
