REMINDER: Spring-Ford schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

This year, consider making a commitment to serve in your community on MLK Day and throughout 2024. Click here to learn more about volunteering on January 16th.

Together, we’ll develop the tools we need to support young people.

SFAHS MLK Day of Service Project
Spring-Ford Area High School's Black Student Union (BSU) is collecting canned food and toiletries as their MLK Day of Service Project!

MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. During the last quarter-century, the MLK Day of Service has grown, and its impact increased as more Americans embraced the idea that citizenship involves taking an active role in improving communities.

Although Martin Luther King Day is Monday, January 15th, the student group will continue collecting up until January 31, 2024. All donations will go to Spring-Ford’s Project Outreach and can be dropped off at Spring-Ford Area High School from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please spread the word and consider donating! Click here to learn more.

Round Up at Giant
Spring-Ford is proud to be a part of the GIANT Feeding School Kids initiative! From January 1 – March 31, you can round up at the register to support our school district’s efforts working to eliminate childhood hunger. Through this initiative, Spring-Ford has successfully eliminate outstanding student meal debt. Stop by GIANT on Main Street in Royersford (address 967 Township Line Road) to round up at the register and support Spring-Ford schools.

Spring-Ford has two Giant locations in our footprint, but not all school districts are quite as lucky. Round Up donations at the Township Line location near Limerick will support our friends in Perkiomen Valley School District.

Last year, Spring-Ford received $7,329.96 from GIANT to support our students. Funds from this program were applied towards outstanding food service balances. Thank you to all who rounded up, and thank you, GIANT, for supporting our students!

Stakeholder Input: Title IIA and Title IV
Under the Federal law, Every Student Succeeds Act, Spring-Ford receives annual allocations for Title IIA and Title IV.  Although allocations fluctuate from year to year, Spring-Ford receives approximately $130,000 for Title IIA and $30,000 for Title IV.

Title IIA provides opportunities for a wide range of activities to support the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school staff.  Title IIA fund must address the learning needs of all students, including children with disabilities, English Learners (ELs), and gifted and talented students. As a stakeholder, we need your input for next year's spending plan. Past practices have included training in the following areas: social emotional learning, technology integration, differentiation, teaching English Learners, understanding diversity, administrator training to improve leadership to support instruction, and transferring some funds to support Title I programs.  Transferability rules allow for Title II funds to be transferred to Title I.

Title IV provides opportunities to support well-rounded education opportunities, safe and healthy schools, and effective uses of technology. As a stakeholder, we need your input for next year's spending plan. Transferability rules allow for Title IV funds to be transferred to Title I & Title II.  Past practices have included transferring the Title IV allocation to Title I for student supports and to Title II to allow for more flexible spending opportunities related to professional development.

Please complete this survey to provide your input on spending opportunities for the 2024-2025 school year for the Federal grants of Title IIA and Title IV.
