SFAHS MLK Day of Service Project
Spring-Ford Area High School's Black Student Union (BSU) is collecting canned food and toiletries as their MLK Day of Service Project!
MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. During the last quarter-century, the MLK Day of Service has grown, and its impact increased as more Americans embraced the idea that citizenship involves taking an active role in improving communities.
Although Martin Luther King Day is Monday, January 15th, the student group will continue collecting up until January 31, 2024.
- SFAHS students: check the flyer in school to drop your donations off.
- 7-8 grade students: drop your donations off in Homeroom
- Spring-Ford community: donations can be dropped off at Spring-Ford Area High School Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join Registered Dietitian Adrianne Delgado as she shares ways for students to feel more content in their bodies, how to improve self-esteem and body image, an introduction to intuitive eating, and the signs for when it's appropriate to seek out additional help.

Spring-Ford Tutoring Services
Spring-Ford will offer two types of tutoring for the second semester this year:
1) Free On-demand Homework Help (1:1; Live; Online; On-Demand): On-demand Homework Help is ideal for students who may be struggling with homework assignments or studying for an assessment and needs extra help. Students will be able to see a live tutor and communicate in real time using a virtual space. No appointment or fee is necessary and can be used for any subject. Students will also have access to a writing lab and world-language lab. Click here for more information.
Need help? Your student can simply log into their Canvas page, enter your desired course, and click on BRAINFUSE- ON-DEMAND TUTORING on the left navigation bar.
2) 1:1 Learning Loss Tutoring (1:1; Live; Online; Scheduled in Advance): REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR 1:1 LEARNING LOSS TUTORING. This is designed for on-going tutoring with the same tutor on specific topics in which a student is considered to be behind. Students would receive a set of hours to schedule at a time that works best for your family (evenings, weekends, summer etc.). The number of hours offered may be based on the number of requests received. Tutoring will begin mid-February and hours will need to be used by May 31, 2024. Due to high demand, to qualify for this type of tutoring there must be a demonstrated learning need. 1:1 Learning Loss Tutoring is NOT intended for those interested in Enrichment or Accelerating through the curriculum. Out of respect for those who truly need support, we ask that you please adhere to these guidelines. There is no charge to the family for 1:1 Learning Loss Tutoring.
Round Up at Giant
Spring-Ford is proud to be a part of the GIANT Feeding School Kids initiative! From January 1 – March 31, you can round up at the register to support our school district’s efforts working to eliminate childhood hunger. Through this initiative, Spring-Ford has successfully eliminate outstanding student meal debt. Stop by GIANT on Main Street in Royersford (address 967 Township Line Road) to round up at the register and support Spring-Ford schools.
Spring-Ford has two Giant locations in our footprint, but not all school districts are quite as lucky. Round Up donations at the Township Line location near Limerick will support our friends in Perkiomen Valley School District. Last year, Spring-Ford received $7,329.96 from GIANT to support our students. Funds from this program were applied towards outstanding food service balances. Thank you to all who rounded up, and thank you, GIANT, for supporting our students!
Many Thanks, Spring-Ford
Have you observed a Spring-Ford student going the extra mile for a peer? Have you experienced an exceptional exchange with a Spring-Ford employee? Many Thanks is an unsolicited acknowledgment of anyone in the Spring-Ford community who has demonstrated a caring or sensitive attitude, gone the extra mile, made a special effort to include someone, or simply deserves recognition.
To Mrs. Vacarro, many thanks for always going above and beyond for the students of RES. The children are so lucky to have your constant support and encouragement. You are simply amazing! From, a thankful parent.
