Friday is for the birds! Get ready to show off your Philly Spirit on Eagles Friday as the team take one step closer to the big game! Wear green or your favorite Eagles gear to support our home team, and be sure to check Spring-Ford's Facebook and Instagram pages for pictures!
Program Spotlight: UPES Student Baristas
Last week, the Student Baristas from Upper Providence Elementary School donated proceeds from their Friday sales of the Coffee & Tea Cart to the Eagles Autism Foundation! The Coffee/Tea Carts were decorated with Philadelphia Eagles signs, streamers, and pictures, including some favorite players like Jason Kelce, Brandon Graham, Devonta Smith, and Fletcher Cox.
Each Friday at Upper Providence, staff have had the opportunity to purchase a brewed coffee and/or hot tea delivered by our team of Baristas. Baristas work very hard to restock items, interact with peers and adults, exchange money, make change, and honor staff’s "Loyalty Cards." Baristas are encouraged to interact with their peers and teachers while working on following directions and taking turns, while responding appropriately and using their Communication Devices to comment and answer questions.
Preparing students for life beyond the classroom is the ultimate goal, as is finding fun and functional activities to work on during the time our students are in our classrooms.
2023-2024 Calendar
The 2023-2024 school calendar was approved on Monday, January 23, 2023. This fall, we'll welcome students back to school on August 28, 2023 and wish them farewell on June 6, 2024.
New next year, Spring-Ford will utilize two Act 80 days. An Act 80 day allows school districts to offer professional development or parent/teacher conferences during the work day, while still being able to "count" the day as a student day. Watch this month's episode of Board Table Talk to learn more about Act 80 days.
Also new next year, the Class of 2024 commencement date is included in the calendar! We’ll celebrate our seniors on June 5, 2024.

Round Up at the Register
SFASD is partnering with our local GIANT Food Stores! Stop by GIANT now through February 28, 2023 and round up at the register to support Spring-Ford schools. Last year, this fundraiser awarded more than $9,100 to support Spring-Ford students!
Board Table Talk
We're pleased to bring Board Table Talk back to our regular mix, and welcome new School Board President Erica Hermans on the show for her first episode.
Board Table Talk airs one a month on YouTube and the Ramcast Podcast. Erica Hermans, Board President, and host Erin Crew discuss topics that emerge from the Board Meetings, answer questions, and provide additional information to the Spring-Ford community. Click here to watch.
Student Spotlight: FBLA Regional Leadership Competition
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a club of student members preparing for careers in business or who are simply interested in competing in a business event of interest.
In Pennsylvania there are roughly 295 active chapters organized into 27 different regions.
Congratulations to all the Future Business Leaders of America members who participated in the Regional Leadership competition! This year, Spring-Ford had 20 FBLA members compete in the (RLC) Regional Leadership Competition in their business event of choice.
Several qualifiers from Spring-Ford will advance to the State Leadership Conference this year to be held at Hershey from April 17th to 18th of 2023. Congratulations to the whole FBLA chapter!
School Spotlight: 5-8 School Fundraiser
Grab a healthy snack and support the 5/6/7/8 Home and School Associations! Stop in Clean Juice in Collegeville on Saturday, January 28th from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and a portion of your order will be donated to the Home and School Association. Just mention the fundraiser or show the graphic before placing your order.
About the 5/6/7/8 Home and School Association: As a 5/6/7/8 parent or guardian, you are automatically a member of the Home & School Association. The association has some great events planned for the upcoming year and encourages parent participation throughout the year, but needs your help! Many current Board Seats will open next school year, please reach out to H&S leaders to learn more about opportunities.

Spring-Ford Wants Your Feedback!
We would like to hear from you! Spring-Ford is considering offering 1:1 tutoring for students. Tutoring would be held live via Zoom and will be based on your child's specific needs. The company that we are considering would use data provided by the district to identify specific skills that your child needs and tutoring sessions will be personalized to your child. Pre- and post-assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of the tutoring sessions, and families would have the availability to provide input into their perceived needs. Royersford Elementary School Fundraiser - Hype Socks
Have you ever thought "I could really use some Spring-Ford socks in my wardrobe?" Well, your thoughts have been answered! The RES Parent/Teacher Organization paired up with Hype Socks to bring you three options to choose from for athletic socks, perfect for soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse and field hockey! Delivery will likely be the beginning of March --- just in time for the spring sports season! The fundraiser runs now until January 27th and the socks will be a bulk delivery to the school to avoid shipping costs! Get them here!
Save the Date - 2023 Graduation Date
The Board of School Directors approved the 2023 Spring-Ford Area School District Graduation Commencement to be set for the evening of Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 7 p.m. in Coach McNelly Stadium. In the event of bad weather, Thursday, June 8th will serve as a rain date.
Save the Date for Brooke's Basket Raffle and Family Fun Night
It's almost time for Brooke's annual Raffle and Family Fun Night! Join friend and family on Friday, February 3rd, doors open at 6:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 7 p.m. To play, families are asked to bring a $10 gift card as a donation (ideas for gift cards include Urban Air, Starr Books, Handel’s, Target, Walmart, Wawa, etc.). Handel's will be there with some select ice cream treats!
