Spring-Ford Area School District Parent & Community Literacy Plan Needs Assessment
Literacy is a critical foundation for all learning. Spring-Ford Area School District works to prepare students to be fully literate in the 21st century. Students must develop complex literacy skills to be able to make meaningful contributions to society and enjoy personal fulfillment.

Pennsylvania has recently updated the state literacy plan and at this point in time, we are revisiting our literacy instruction and subsequently updating our Literacy Plan.

Pennsylvania's State Literacy Plan supports five guiding principles: Literacy as a Critical Foundation for All Learning, Diversity, High Expectations, Evidence-Based Decision Making, and Professional Learning. Additionally, Pennsylvania State Literacy Plan includes essential elements of a comprehensive literacy program. These areas include Standards & Curriculum, Assessment, Instruction, Professional Learning & Practice, Leadership, Transitions, and Partnerships.

As a valuable member of our school community, we invite you to complete this survey to share your thoughts and ideas related to our literacy programming.
