Spring City Expansion Project
On March 20, 2023, the Spring-Ford administrative team recommended a plan to add onto and renovate Spring City Elementary School. On March 27, 2023, the Board of School Directors approved this recommendation in an 8 to 1 vote. The plan to renovate and add onto the school addresses the following needs:

  • Improved educational programming
  • Supports future planning decisions
  • Capacity issues
  • Deferred maintenance and capital investment

This approval was the first of many steps in the multi-year project. The first phase of the project timeline will take place over the next few months, including the review of a schematic design starting this month and Board approval of development and bidding in August 2023. In the schematic design phase, stakeholder input will inform the space layout and solicit feedback about how to best utilize each type of space in and around the building. This step will produce the floorplan of the building and locates all the key spaces, services, departments, etc. We will share more information once we are closer to a meeting date.

In the detail design phase, stakeholders can again share feedback on interior finishes and department-specific items in classrooms and spaces. This series of workshops provides detail for the spaces' final look/feel/function.

Please visit the Growing With Spring City webpage for project details, timelines, updates and to ask questions.

Willkommen bei Spring-Ford!
Welcome to Spring-Ford! SFAHS kicked off the Stuttgart to Spring-Ford German Exchange Program this week with ten students and two teachers visiting from Stuttgart, Germany.  SFAHS administration started working with the Friedrich-Eugens-Gymnasium (High School) in 2019 to develop a program similar to the current Limerick to Limerick Exchange Program, where students can better understand cultures and insights into everyday life abroad.

The Friedrich-Eugens-Gymnasium (High School) is one of the oldest schools in Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1796 the school developed to a high-performance high school over the past 200 years.

Please welcome our German friends and show them what makes us Spring-Ford proud!

Upcoming Water Testing Information
In 2019 Spring-Ford tested for lead in water at drinking outlets and sinks used for water consumption. This testing was based on changes in PA School Code focusing on water quality in Pennsylvania schools. When we developed the lead in water testing plan, we adopted a 3-year testing cycle. Testing was supposed to reoccur in 2022 but due to COVID protocols that had drinking outlets taken out of service, so we deferred to 2023.

Again, there is no evidence of water quality issues in any school or building and this is our proactive approach to assure water quality in our schools. Below are the sampling dates for all buildings and results will be shared on the district website when available.

More information pertaining to water testing is available online.
