Be Part of the Conversation: Kids & the Tech/Life Balance
Now more than ever, technology plays a vital role in all our lives. It keeps us connected and can educate, illuminate and entertain. With increased use, kids can develop an unhealthy dependence on tech as an escape or way to avoid life’s challenges. Gaming, social media, and streaming entertainment can be fun and relaxing, but moderation can easily slide toward dependence. We’ll provide strategies to help our kids develop a healthy relationship with technology, and skills to practice self-care. Michael Blanche, MSS, LCSW, a counselor specializing in adolescents and young adults, will discuss the real-world challenges facing adolescents and young adults.

WHEN: October 12 at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Online! Click here to register.

Volunteer Clearances
During the course of the school year, schools will host activities that may require volunteer support. In order for an individual to serve as a volunteer, they must have current volunteer clearances as per the school district’s policy. Information about the volunteer policy and the clearances necessary to serve as a volunteer can be found through the district’s website by clicking here.

Processing clearances does take some time so we encourage parents interested in being part of school-related activities to plan ahead. This process is another step that we take to create a safe and secure school environment. If you have questions about the process or your application, please consult the contacts on the district website above.

Join the Spring-Ford Area School District for our Support Staff Job Fair. Meet with representatives from Substitute Teacher Services (STS), General Healthcare Resources, Inc.
