Welcome Mr. Thompson

Welcome to 5th Grade, Mr. Thompson!
Mr. Thompson recently joined the Spring-Ford family as the 5th Grade House Principal.

It is my distinct pleasure to join the Spring-Ford family. Prior to becoming a member of the Ram family, I served ten years in the West Chester Area School District, in many capacities. I began my tenure as a fourth, then third grade general education teacher. I then became a gifted education case manager and instructor, as well as a math specialist. During my instructional career, I supplemented my experience by serving as a head teacher and equity affiliate in an elementary building. My administrative experience began in West Chester as a Teacher on Special Assignment, Assistant Principal, in two elementary buildings. Lastly, in the summers, I worked as an elementary administrator for the ELD program.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Eastern University, K-6 PA Teaching Certification from West Chester University and Masters of Arts/PreK-12 Principal Certificate from Cabrini University. It was during my undergraduate years when I met my wife, Wendy. Together, we have three children; Lily (11), Hope (9), and Josh (3). I am thrilled to begin my career as a Ram. Together, we’ll work to ensure a successful, healthy and exciting school experience for students.

Spring-Ford Area High School Theatre presents the Fall Play... Radium Girls, by D. W. Gregory
In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. As the case goes on, however, Grace finds herself battling not just with the U.S. Radium Corporation, but with her own family and friends, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire. Called a "powerful" and "engrossing" drama by critics, Radium Girls offers a wry, unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsessions with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science.

WHEN: Friday, November 3 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 4 at 1 and 7 p.m.

WHERE: Spring-Ford Area High School Auditorium
