Hello to the beginner or advance shutterbugs of the 5/6 Center! If you are interested in learning a bit more about photography composition, editing, and storage, then the Photography Club is right up your alley! All levels of experience and cameras are welcome. It doesn't matter if it's a phone or a DSLR! The Photography Club will meet after school on Wednesdays from 3:40 pm - 4:40 pm. Students are allowed to bring in the camera of their choice. Students will need a ride home at 4:40 pm. Because of the hight interest of this club, participants will be selected by a lottery and will be notified by 4/8/19. 5th and 6th Grade Families are invited to join in a Skate Night on Tuesday, April 9,2019 at the Center Ice Skating Rink in Oaks. This is a pay at the door event. Cost is $10 per family and includes skate rental and admission. Cash or Checks are welcome. This is not a drop off event, an adult must accompany all students. Siblings are welcome. Spring-Ford Intermediate School will be hosting its 2nd annual Basket Bingo to help raise money for an end of the year school wide event and we need your help! Each homeroom pair has been assigned a basket theme and we're asking for donations to help fill the baskets. Donations could be items or gift cards pertaining to the theme as well as monetary and items will be purchased for you. Please look for your homeroom/switch teachers name in the sign up genius. Items requested for the raffle baskets are listed, but feel free to add anything you think would fit the basket's theme. Please note your students name in the comment box. If you are able to contribute to another homeroom's basket, please do so!

All basket raffle items should be turned into your homeroom teacher on or before Thursday, APRIL 11th, 2019.

Basket Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the 5th and 6th grade spring music concerts, art show, and during school in homeroom. More details will be provided to students regarding ticket sale dates as we get closer to the events in May.

SAVE THE DATE......unfortunately, due to weather conditions, the annual Multicultural Thanksgiving had to be cancelled. Instead, we are hosting a Spring Harvest on Friday, April 12th at the 5/6/7 Center from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. It will be the same concept as the Multicultural Thanksgiving- sign up to bring a dish native to your culture, bring it with you and share with other parents, classmates and faculty. Attention all runners! SFIS Running Club will be starting soon. If you are interested in participating and are dedicated to running (not walking) , please pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Reidnauer's room W203 or the counseling office. We will be running 2 groups this year, a Monday group and a Wednesday group. You must be available to participate on one of these days. All permission slips are due to Mrs. Reidnauer by Thursday, February 14th. Due to the number of participants, running club members will be selected by lottery. An announcement will be made once members have been selected.

All 5/6 Grade students are invited to participate in after school intramurals. Intramurals are from 3:45 pm -4:45 pm. Students who participate will need to be picked up in the front of the main entrance of the Intermediate School at 4:45 pm. A permission slip must be completed in order for a student to participate. The intramurals available are as follows:

The Spring-Ford Area School District was recently selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to receive a $35,000 grant through the PAsmart Program to grow the current Ram QUEST program in grades 1 through 6. RAM Quest is a class where students engage in authentic learning experiences in which they have to think critically and creatively to solve problems, to inquire, and to explore. Any 5th or 6th Grade students that are interested in watching movies or creating their own stories are invited to participate in our Screenwriting Club. The club will meet after school from 3:40 pm - 4:40 pm. Students must have someone to pick them up promptly at 4:40 pm. The club is limited to approximately 15 students which will be selected using a lottery. *Returning members do not need to come until Week 3. Click here for more information and permission slip.

If you plan on picking your student up on a regular basis each week at normal dismissal time, please complete a Recurring Parent Pick-up Form. Click here for form. Parent Pick up is at Door # 12 in the back of the building at 3:40 pm. Please park and enter Door 12 to sign your student out. Please be sure to have indentification with you at the time of pick up. Otherwise, in the event you need to pick up your student at parent pick up on a specific day, please send in a hand written note to the teacher and specify the name of the person who will pick the student up.

2019-2020 Kindergarten Registration

Children living in the Spring-Ford Area School District who will be five years old by August 31, 2019 are eligible to attend Kindergarten next school year. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION will begin mid-February and end on March 29, 2019. Once the online registration information is complete, parents will be prompted to select a date and time for the appointment, which will be held at their child's elementary school. Parents who are unsure of their elementary school, or are unable to select an appointment, may call 610-705-6120. Click here to make an appointment.
