7th Grade Announcements

Spring-Ford students currently enrolled in grades 4-12 are invited to participate in the 5-week Summer Band Lesson Program. This program offers one-on-one music lessons on band instruments on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This series of five weekly private lessons taught by the Spring-Ford Music Teachers and local music specialists will begin on Tuesday, June 26 and will conclude on Thursday, July 26. Daytime lessons will be scheduled in half-hour increments from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lessons will be held in the 7th Grade Center music rooms.

Band instruments offered for the Summer Lesson Program include woodwinds, brass and percussion. Please click here to register, and to see specific instruments.

Register early, as availability is limited and fills quickly. Registration is due no later than Friday, June 1, 2018. If you have any questions please contact summer lesson coordinator, Ms. Sarah Fralich, at Evans Elementary sbeck@spring-ford.net with SUMMER MUSIC LESSONS in the subject line.

Come learn more about the Spring-Ford Middle School Color-Guard! We welcome students entering 7th or 8th grade for the 2018-2019 school year. No experience required.

Our informational parent/student meeting will be on Tuesday, May 29th from 6-7 pm in the 5/6/7th grade cafeteria. Hope you will join us!

Attention parents of upcoming 6th and 7th grade students:

If you have not already done so, please use the summer months to schedule your upcoming 6th graders for a physical exam and your upcoming 7th graders for a dental exam. These exams are required by the State for all students in those grades and are due by September 30, 2018. Please print health forms from the Spring-Ford webpage under Health Services and take with you to the exams. Once the forms are completed, please hand in a copy to your school nurse. Please contact your school nurse with any questions.Attention parents of upcoming 6th and 7th grade students:

For Trying out for 7th and 8th Grade Sports: We offer a time to come in to get the sports physical.

Students currently in grades 6th & 7th physicals will be held, as listed below, at the 7th grade center (enter door #22 to check in):

Boys physicals on Thursday, June 7th

7th Grade 2:30 to 4:00

6th Grade 3:30 to 5:00

Girls physicals on Monday, June 11th

7th Grade 2:30 to 4:00

6th Grade 3:30 to 5:00

The cost for the physicals is $20, checks payable to Dr. Brosius. Please complete the online registration before you attend the physicals to insure your student's registration is complete and they are ready for tryouts. The registration is done online and can be found on the S-F website, under Extra Curricular then under Athletics. Once you are on Athletics you must go to the Registration Tab to start the process.

All registration material must be complete, 2 weeks prior to the start of each season.

Attention parents of CURRENT 6th and 7th Grade students:

Is your young athlete interested in playing Middle School football? The Athletic Department will be holding an informational meeting for parents on Thursday, May 17th at 7 p.m. in the 7th Grade Gym. Coach Chad Brubaker will be speaking about the changes to the structure of the Middle School Football Program, impacting the 2018 season.

The 7th Grade Field Trip to Mermaid Lake in Blue Bell, PA will take place on Friday, June 8th. The rain date has been scheduled for Monday, June 11th. The trip is $15.00 which includes transportation, admission to the lake, and lunch. Students will be transported by bus and will depart from the 7th Grade Center at approximately 9:30 a.m and return by 2:15 p.m. Click here for more information. Are you looking for an after-school activity? Then the 7th Grade Walking Club is for you! The Walking Club will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. You will need a ride home promptly at 4:00. Please dress as needed for the weather. If the weather is not good, we will keep active indoors. Click here for the schedule. The Friends and the Community Club is collecting plastic bottle caps to create an upcycled school mural. Please send in cleaned plastic bottle caps of all sizes and colors. Avoid sending in caps that have been exposed to chemicals. Caps from drinks, laundry detergent, jars, baby food pouches, etc. will work great! The collection is ongoing, students can give collected caps to their homeroom teachers.

REMINDER: Join us for the 4th Grade Transition Night, May 31, 2018 at 7 p.m. Meet Mrs. Nuneviller and the 5th Grade House Principal, participate in a parent presentation and enjoy a self-guided tour. This event is for parents/guardians only and will be held in the 5th grade cafeteria.

All parents of 4th grade students with IEP's are invited to attend an informational meet and greet with Christine Raber, Supervisor of Special Education Grades 5-8, and staff in room W148 beginning at 6 p.m.

2018-2019 School Calendar

The Spring-Ford Board of School Directors approved the 2018-2019 School Calendar during the February 26, 2018 Board Meeting. The first day of school will be August 27, 2018 and the tentative last day of school will be June 14, 2019. The calendar will have three emergency days built-in, in the event of school cancellations. If additional days are needed, the following days will be converted into student/teacher school days: November 19, 2018; November 20, 2018; February 18, 2019; April 17 and/or April 18, 2019. These days are designated as additional emergency make-up days and there exists a possibility that they may be used. Click here to view the full calendar.
