8TH GRADE CENTER OFFICE TO BE OPEN DURING THE WEEK OF JULY 27TH
The 8th Grade Center office will be open on Monday, July 27, thru Thursday, July 30, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Parents and/or students may come in to retrieve locker content, return textbooks and/or library books, pick up a pre-ordered yearbook, purchase one of the limited number of yearbooks still available (cost is $35.00), or to drop off school transfer papers.
This will be the last time that parents/students may purchase a yearbook for the 2019-20 school year. Any remaining yearbooks must be returned to the yearbook company.

Reminder, on-line learning is now mandatory. Going forward, our on-line learning will count as regular school days. Please call the Attendance Hotline at (610) – 705 - 6002 and use the fourth option from the main menu or email firstname.lastname@example.org if your child is ill and not able to complete their online assignments for the day. This is the same procedure that was previously used throughout the current school year.
East student must login to their individual Google Classroom to log attendance each day. Each day, attendance will be recorded with a posted “Attendance Question of the Day.”
· K-4: Each day the homeroom teachers will create a “question” in the google classroom under classwork. The questions should be labeled – “Attendance Check-In: Question of the Day”
· Grades 5-6: Every day each class (pair of switch teachers) will create a “question” in the google classroom under classwork. The Questions should be labeled – “Attendance Check-In: Question of the Day”
· Grade 7-12: Every day, each class will create a “question” in the google classroom under classwork. The Questions should be labeled – “Attendance Check-In: Question of the Day”
· Attendance can be logged anytime during the day, up until 11:59 PM. Teachers will record student attendance for each class period and the attendance secretary will then record student attendance into Skyward.

What types of things should I report? If it makes you uncomfortable, submit a tip. It will be up to your school to determine what the next steps are. Do you think someone is going to harm themselves? Did you see something scary that concerns you online? Submit this kind of thing.

Online registration through the Athletics page MUST be completed 2 weeks PRIOR TO the start of the season. Failure to adhere to due dates may result in a missed tryout opportunity.
Starting Monday, March 30th teachers will be providing new instruction online using Google Classroom with the intent of advancing and moving the curriculum forward. Please know that we understand that this is going to be a transition for families, and we are stressing flexibility for families. While our office staff hopes that your family has enjoyed the summer vacation, we wanted to remind everyone that the start of your child's 8th grade school year is rapidly approaching. An informational video has been prepared that will hopefully address many of the questions that students and parents may have about the start of the new school year.
In addition, we would like to provide some important dates:
- Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 3:00 PM is the release of student schedules in Skyward;
- Monday, August 19, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM the school building will be open to students and parents for self-guided tours;
- Monday, August 26, 2019 is our first student day;
- Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 7:00 PM is our annual "Back to School - Meet the Teacher Evening";
- Thursday, September 12, 2019 is our student picture day.
Furthermore, students playing football are required to submit athletic registration forms by Monday, August 12, 2019; students participating in any other fall sport are required to submit their athletic registration forms by Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

Mr. Harrison and Mr. Terry will be running intramural Fitness Training on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school at 7:00 a.m. This is open to any 8th grade student. We have been advised by the Royersford Police Department that the parking spaces on Washington Street, from 7th Ave to the Needleworks building (in front of the row homes) are now Permit Parking Only. There is no allowed non-permit time limit. (It used to be 2 hours non-permit). Please do not park there before, during and/or after school.Royersford Police Officers vigilantly enforce this regulation.
It is recommended that parents park in the parking lot between the 8th Grade Center and the 9th Grade Center for afterschool and evening activities.
