Start of the New School Year

Dear Parents of Incoming 8th Grade Students:

We hope that all is well and that your family has experienced an enjoyable summer vacation.  Since the start of the new school year is rapidly approaching, we wanted to provide you with some relevant information to assist in your child’s successful return to school.

IMPORTANT UPDATES AND REMINDERS FOR THE START OF THE 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR

• August th: Schedule Release 3 p.m.
• August th: Self-Guided Building Tour; 8am - 11pm and 1pm - 6pm. Bring a copy of your student’s schedule to the self-guided building tour. Building maps and other forms will be available.
• August th: Self-Guided Building Tour; 8am - 2pm. Bring a copy of your student’s schedule to the self-guided building tour. Building maps and other forms will be available.
• August 25th: First Day!
• August th: Open House, 7 p.m.
• September 1st: Closed (Labor Day)
• September : Fall sports try-outs/first week
• September 23rd: Closed (Holiday)

  • Student Lunches:
    - To access a student’s lunch time in Skyward, utilize the following steps:
                ▪ Family Access
                ▪ Report Cards
                ▪ Lunch Times

• Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up:
    - Parents should drop-off and pick-up students on the school side of Washington Street.
    - Parents should not drop-off or pick-up students in front of the row homes across from the auxiliary gym. These residents have on-street parking and if those spaces are taken by our parents, the police will be notified.

     • Students will be assigned a locker during homeroom.
     • Students will be permitted to carry their backpack during the school day.
     • Students will be permitted to carry a water bottle during the school day.
    • Open House:  August th beginning at 7:00 PM in your child’s homeroom.
      - Bring a copy of your child’s schedule.

A few Athletic Reminders for Fall Student Athletes:

• Online Registration must be completed before you turn in Section 6 Health History and Section 7 CIPPE Physical, these forms are due 2 weeks before the tryouts/season begins.
• Physicals must be administered by a doctor May 1, 2025 or after and they cannot tryout for a sport unless the online registration and physical is complete at least 2 weeks before tryouts begin. Online registration includes a CIPPE Physical (PIAA section 7), this will be uploaded to your online registration.

• TIPS FOR REGISTRATION—STUDENT CENTRAL 

• Below are a few tips to help you navigate through the athletic registration process.

• If the system is timing out when you try to complete the forms, click “Keep me signed in” when you initially sign in.
• When switching between student accounts, be sure to click the name at the top and sign out before you try to switch.
• PIAA Section 5 Health History can be completed online. Section 6 CIPPE Physical must be uploaded, no hard copies will be accepted. You can also upload the Eligibility form and First Aid if you are unable to complete them online.
• To link accounts, the student account is created using the students email and it is case sensitive (example: MCDAMIC000@rams.spring-ford.net). The initial password is “bigteams” all one word and lowercase. Also, the email will not be sent to student accounts, request the link from the student account, then the parent account will receive the email.
• Feel free to contact Customer Support for Big Teams at: support@bigteams.com
• Activity Fee’s are paid through School Pay and you will not be able to pay them until after tryouts.  You will receive an email from the athletic department with instructions.
