Limerick Elementary School is working to install a half-mile long walking path around the school campus. Our goal is to raise $45,000 within the next two years and have the path installed during the 2018-2019 school year. The walking path will be used as a tool to help promote and engage students in a healthy lifestyle through the implementation of a quality walking/running program. Through the use of our proposed walking path the students will work on creating and implementing a walking/jogging program that includes goal setting. By empowering students with this tool we are able to provide them the opportunity to engage in a quality fitness program that can in turn help improve physical and emotional health and wellness. Once the path is installed it will also provide a free resource for our community to engage in healthy activity.
We received two quotes from companies, and the lowest quote for the installation of our walking path came in at $42,300. Our goal is to raise this money in two years and have the walking path ready for use during the 2018-2019 school year. In order to raise the needed funds we will be doing various fundraising campaigns throughout the next two years.
1. We will be holding a fundraising event between March 12th and March 30th. The Shamrock Shuffle will be geared towards raising funds to install a walking path, and to equip students with the skills necessary to utilize the walking path. Click on our events tab for more information.
2. Look for our walking path wishing well at the school during the school day, and at all school events.
