Spring-Ford Area School District, in collaboration with the Montgomery County Department of Mental Health, have been training the school administration, faculty and staff members on a suicide prevention method entitled: Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR). Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone for help. Our goal is to share this information and training with our parents, guardians and community to better prepare everyone in the event they encounter someone in need. QPR is about saving lives and providing support for one another.
Please consider this invitation to attend one of the two QPR training sessions hosted by Spring-Ford on Monday, January 29, 2018 and on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Hurda Learning Center at the 10-12 Grade Center. Each attendee will receive a QPR Resource Guide as well as a QPR Gatekeeper Certificate. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please click here to register.
