November 1 is quickly approaching. Transcripts can take up to 10 school days to process. If you are trying to meet a November 1 admission deadline, you should make a Naviance request for your transcript to be sent to those schools by Friday, October 18.
Before requesting your transcript, you must:
● Complete your application: If you are more than halfway through your application and you are attempting to meet a November 1 deadline, it is okay to request your transcript before submitting your application.
● Match your Common App to Naviance: If you are using the common app, you must match your Common App to your Naviance Account before requesting your transcript. We cannot send a transcript if your accounts are not matched. Please note - every student MUST have a signed Parent Release of Records on file. You will NOT be able to request a transcript without it!
● List your schools in the Common App and Naviance: For transcripts to be sent, students must have those colleges listed under the “My Colleges” tab in the Common App and under the “Colleges I’m Applying to” section in Naviance.
● For self-reporting schools (Penn State, Pitt, Temple, UDel, etc.): Make sure you have completed self-reporting your grades by November 1. If you need an unofficial transcript to self-report, you can request one HERE. Reminder that the FPC does not send official transcripts to any self-reporting school.
Other important steps to complete NOW to meet a November 1 deadline:
● Complete your Counselor Recommendation Information Survey: Double check your college list to see if they require a letter of recommendation from your School Counselor. If they do, you will need to fill out the form below for Mrs. Baker or Mr. Rhodes.
Mrs. Baker’s Counselor Request Form (A-K)
Mr. Rhodes’ Counselor Request Form (L-Z)
● Request your Teacher Recommendations in Naviance: If your college requires a teacher recommendation, you must make those requests by going to the “Colleges” tab in Naviance and clicking the “Letters of Recommendation” link. There you will select your teacher’s name, where you would like the letters sent, and then click submit.
The FPC will be open on Friday, November 1 (a day off for you) from 8am-3pm for students to drop by to complete their applications for Early Action deadlines.
Please contact the FPC with any questions!
