Applying for a Minor Work Permit
Upon request, grade-level House Offices are able to provide work permits for students, 14 through 17 years of age, living in the Spring-Ford Area School District. Please see the directives below:
Parent or legal guardian of the student must complete working papers by emailing their student’s House Office Secretary listed below. Click here to complete the online Parent Permit Application.
The completed application and a photo/scan of one of the required forms of identification (student’s birth certificate, passport, or driver’s license/state ID) must be emailed or returned in person to the House Office Secretary. Once these items are received by the House Office Secretary, a work permit will be issued.
If you have any questions, please reach out by email to the appropriate grade-level House Office Secretary.

Our school’s access code: RAMS
We want to use YOUR photos in the yearbook!
FIRST, check your camera settings if using an iPhone 8 or newer.
The yearbook staff works with JPEG images, but images are saved in HEIC format by default on iPhone 8 and newer running iOS 11 or above. HEIC image formats are not compatible with our yearbook page creation software. Android users or users with older iPhones who update to iOS 11 are not affected.
To ensure the proper format, change your camera image settings on your iPhone to only take pictures as JPEGs. Here’s how to make the setting change in iOS:
1. Open the Settings app on the iPhone and go to Camera.
2. Choose Formats and select Most Compatible to take photos in JPEG format.
3. Close the Settings app.
NEXT, follow these tips to take better smartphone pictures.
- Clean your camera lens with a soft, non-abrasive microfiber cloth.
- Frame and compose your image using the “rule of thirds” gridlines.
- On iPhones, open the Settings app and go to Camera. Enable Grid.
- On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Camera and select Grid Lines.
- Don’t use the digital zoom. Use your feet and get closer to your subject.
- Look for other light sources other than using your flash by default.
- Use a pocket-sized tripod to help steady and straighten your images.
- Tapping your screen will cause vibrations. Use a remote shutter.
- On iPhones, Siri will open the Camera app on request. If you have an Apple Watch, open the Camera app on your watch for a remote shutter.
- On Android, ask Google Assistant to take a photo, selfie or timed image.
- Use Portrait Mode to blur backgrounds only when you have good light.
LAST, open the Yearbook Snap app and submit your pictures.
- Download the Yearbook Snap app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Search for Spring-Ford High School and enter the access code: RAMS
- Upload your photos for possible inclusion in the yearbook! Please note that submission is not a guarantee of inclusion.

The SFASD High School Handbook is a valuable resource. It is important for students and parents to become familiar with the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations included within the pages of the High School Handbook.
Students are expected to log on to their student Skyward account and complete the Student Handbook Acknowledgment electronically. If a hard copy of the handbook or Student Handbook Acknowledgment Form is needed, please contact your grade level house office.
If you have a concern that is not adequately or clearly addressed within these pages, you are encouraged to contact your house principal, counselor, or teacher.

Getting Ready for Senior Year
Be sure to sign and return the Parent Release of Records form to Mrs. Iannetta (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the Future Planning Center. This form, signed by a parent/legal guardian, is required in order for transcript requests to be processed through Naviance. Transcript requests should NOT be made until after college applications are completed. Please note, transcripts will not be sent until the second week of September at the earliest and require ten (10) school days notice to process. Look for more information from the FPC at the end of the summer on how to make official requests.
