Spring-Ford Area High School's Graduation Ceremony will air on Friday, June 12th, at 7 p.m.!
As previously shared, Spring-Ford has established a plan to offer each student the opportunity to participate in a ceremonial walk across our graduation stage over the course of four days in late-May. Graduates will honor social distancing by arriving at the high school during an assigned time in their cap and gown, along with two members of their family, to walk across the stage and receive their diploma jacket. RCTV will film each individual graduate, then will edit all graduates along with all commencement speakers, into a full graduation video ceremony, which will air on June 12, 2020 at 7 p.m.

Beginning June 13, each Spring-Ford graduate's name will be displayed on the digital marquee at the high school entrance on Lewis Road to provide an opportunity for students to take pictures in their caps and gowns next to their name. The entire class will rotate through names every 32 minutes.
Summer Graduation Update: As previously shared, in addition to the opportunity to participate in a ceremonial walk across our graduation stage in late-May, we also agreed to offer a traditional Graduation Ceremony to take place in either July or August, according to the mandates allowed at that time. As of this message, Pennsylvania remains in the Green Phase which only allows gatherings of 250 people.
Out of our class of 638 students, 134 students RSVP’ed to attend the July Graduation Ceremony, and 109 students RSVP’ed to attend the August Graduation Ceremony. As well, 172 students RSVP’ed to attend the Senior Picnic Celebration. Unfortunately, even though only 20% of the class was interested in attending these events, the total number of graduates as well as their two guests far exceeds the event limit of 250 people for these events.
We did make a request through our State Representative to both the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Health to waive the 250 event limitation, and that request was denied.
Due to the event size restrictions, we will not be able to hold either the Graduation Ceremony or the Senior Picnic in July. We will provide an update on August 1 for the events planned in August.
