Spring-Ford Area High School's Graduation Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 7 p.m. - rain or shine! Seating will begin at 6 p.m. The location is dependent upon the weather. If the skies are clear, the ceremony will take place outside in Coach McNelly Stadium. If inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in the 10-12th Grade Center. Please read below for details.

When will seniors get graduation tickets?

Students will receive their tickets on the first day of graduation practice.

How many graduation tickets will each senior get?

Each graduate will receive six (6) graduation tickets on the day of graduation practice. Tickets will be three (3) different colors:

  • Two (2) tickets allow access to Coach McNelly Stadium (outdoor ceremony) OR High School Gymnasium (indoor ceremony).
  • Two (2) tickets allow access to Coach McNelly Stadium (outdoor ceremony) OR High School Auditorium, Cafeteria, Hurda Learning Center (indoor ceremony).
  • Two (2) tickets allow access to Coach McNelly Stadium ONLY (outdoor ceremony). These tickets will NOT allow access to an indoor ceremony.

What do the colored tickets mean?

Each graduate will receive three (3) different colored tickets.

  • Two (2) tickets will allow access to Coach McNelly Stadium (outdoor ceremony) OR High School Gymnasium (indoor ceremony).
  • Two (2) tickets will allow access to Coach McNelly Stadium (outdoor ceremony) OR High School Auditorium, Cafeteria, Hurda Learning Center (indoor ceremony).
  • Two (2) tickets will allow access to Coach McNelly Stadium ONLY(outdoor ceremony.) These tickets will NOT allow access to an indoor ceremony.

NOTE: Any extra tickets a student receives will NOT be valid to enter if there is an indoor ceremony.

Can graduates get extra graduation tickets?

Yes. Extra tickets will be available at the end of graduation practice. The number of extra tickets has not yet been determined. The graduate will need to stand in the extra ticket line at the end of practice and sign for any extra tickets. In case of inclement weather, and the ceremony moves inside to the 10-12 gymnasium, extra ticket holders will NOT be able to attend the indoor ceremony.

Do children need a ticket?

School age children require a ticket. Lap children or children under the age of five (5) do not need a ticket.

What are the accommodations for someone who is in a wheelchair or has difficulty walking?

A Special Seating Request Form, listed at the top of this page, must be completed and returned to the 12th Grade Office or room 276 by May 18, 2018. A reservation will be made for seating on the lower level of the bleachers.

Are there “special” tickets for the special seating section?

No. There are no “special” tickets for special seating; seating is via a general graduation ticket based on the request. A master list will be generated once all Special Seating Request Forms have been received. The person(s) requiring special seating and their one (1) guest will be permitted to sit in the section of bleachers labeled “special seating”. A High School staff member will be present to check in special seating guests and provide assistance.

Must a Commencement Participation Form be completed and turned in if the graduate is not planning to participate in the ceremony?

Yes. Whether the students will be walking or not must be indicated on the form and the completed form turned in.

Is a parental signature required on the Commencement Participation Form for a senior who is eighteen (18)?

Yes. A parental/guardian signature of the graduating senior is required on the form.

What time do the gates open for seating?

Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. for ticket holder seating. Commencement begins at 7 p.m.

What happens if it rains on the day of graduation?

If there is inclement weather the graduation ceremony will move to the 10-12 gymnasium. If this occurs, extra tickets will not be valid. Only the four(4) tickets designated for an indoor ceremony will be allowed to enter authorized locations in the school.

NOTE: Any extra tickets a student receives will NOT be valid to enter if there is an indoor ceremony.

How will I know if graduation is moved indoors?

If graduation is moved indoors there will be a phone message sent home, similar to snow day notifications, and there will be a message on the Senior High School website.

Will the graduation ceremony be broadcasted on TV?

Yes. Commencement will be broadcast on SFTV, Comcast 969 or FiOS 44.

Do seniors have to attend graduation practice?

YES! Practice is mandatory in order to participate in the ceremony.

What should students wear to graduation practice?

Graduates do not have to wear graduation clothes to practice. Regular clothes that are appropriate for school are acceptable.

Who will students be walking next to at graduation?

Seniors will find out at practice who they will be walking with. Please keep in mind that, even at this point, changes may still be made.

Is there a color expectation for dresses at graduation?

Yes. Graduation dresses for females must be a solid white with NO colored patterns.

Will graduates be allowed to keep their cap, gown and tassel?

Yes.

Where can we park?

Parking at the 9th Grade Center and 10-12 Grade Center is limited. This year, a shuttle will run from the 5/6 Grade Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. Shuttle service will continue through the start of graduation, and will resume immediatly following the ceremony.
