WHAT IS A CYCLE DAY?
Our daily schedule will be operating by way of a “6 DAY CYCLE,” as opposed to the traditional Monday through Friday concept. By using a 6 DAY CYCLE, we avoid missing special subjects (Art, Music, Physical Education, and Library) on days when school is not in session (snow days, vacation days, etc.).The first day of school will be “DAY 1,” as opposed to “MONDAY.” The second day of school will be “DAY 2;” the third day will be “DAY 3,” and so forth. The cycle will repeat itself every five days. In order to prevent any confusion, the “DAY” will be posted on the lunch menu and in the school lobby.
WHEN CAN STUDENTS ARRIVE AT SCHOOL?
Children should not be dropped off at school prior to 8:30 AM, and at 8:35 they will be admitted to the school building. All students must be in their classrooms by 9:00 AM, which is the start of the school day. If your child arrives at school after 9:00 AM, he/she is considered tardy. Please accompany your child to the office upon arrival.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE PICKED UP?
Parents who want to pick up their child at the end of the day (3:40 PM) should send a note to the teacher that morning so that the child is not placed on the bus. Children who do not have notes will be expected to board the bus. ALL parents are expected to come into the building to “sign out their child”. Parents will meet their child(ren) in the gym.
WHAT IF MY CHILD WILL BE ABSENT?
If your child will be absent from school, please call the “Absentee Phone Line” by 9:00 AM. 610-705-6009 option 4 and state the date, your child’s name, your child’s teacher, and the reason for the absence.
